August 2009

Wow I cannot believe summer is over and school has started. It has been an exciting and really busy summer. Now that it is ending it is getting busy in a totally different way. Gabe lost both his front teeth within a week of each other so school pictures this year are going to be really cute.
Gabe is now in 1st grade and goes to school all day from 8:15am to 2pm. This is different, but not totally new for him, as he did spend summer camp from 9am-3:30pm everyday. In fact camp is longer than school, but they were not confined at camp and made to sit and learn. He started on Wednesday, Aug 26th and totally loves it so far.
He was a little nervous to begin with because his best friend was in a different class, but once he found out that he could still have lunch and recess with him he was a very happy child.

Kaleb starts school on the 9th of September and I am very excited. He went to camp at the preschool this summer and he is so ready for it. He is a very smart child, sometimes to smart for his own good if you ask me. How many 2 years old do you know that know Star Wars, but by the title, can make the light saber sounds, knows the theme song, and says good morning to C3-PO and R2D2 every morning. He is also drawing pictures that just amaze me, faces with hair, suns, all sorts of things.

We of course encourage all the artist part of him as much as possible. My mom also thinks he is very musically inclined. He is always at the piano at her house and singing right along with his playing. It is really cute.

It's been a while

It has been a while since my last post and for that I am sorry. Summer has been really crazy around here. Right after school ended for Gabe the kids and Judith went to visit her brother in Humbolt and as soon as we got home it was off to camp we go. Gabriel is once again attending Camp Gan Izzy and this year Kaleb did 2 weeks (6 days total) of camp at Camp Gab B'nai where he will be going to preschool in the fall. Yes preschool can you believe it.

It is now almost August, Kaleb and I have had a busy rest of the summer driving Gabriel and his girlfriends to camp and picking up everyday, plus playing and swimming as much as the weather will allow. It has been very strange weather this summer. Either cold with great winds or way to HOT!!!

Gabriel only has 2 weeks of camp left and then we have two weeks until until school starts. All in all this has been a very exciting summer.

I am also trying to start up a photography business this summer. So far I have done two jobs, but am hoping to do more. I am trying to get my name out and my website (http://www.silverjphoto.com/). So that has been really exciting. I took this picture of the kids at one of the shoots I did of our friends the Enniks at the Palace of Fine Arts. It was a great day and we had a blast with them.

The kids of course also both celebrated birthdays and I have included a couple of pictures of the kids.
Gabriel's cake was a Bakugan cake with red icing. His friends had fun painting his face.
Kaleb had a Mickey Mouse cake and he didn't need any help getting cake and icing all over his face, but he sure had fun doing it.

June 26, 2009

Life has been busy for us. Kaleb turns 2 tomorrow and we just got back from visiting my brother up in Humbolt. My brother and soon to be SIL have moved into a wonderful house out in the country. And I mean OUT there. The views are wonderful and it is so quiet and peaceful. The boys had a blast visiting. It is back to the grind come Monday. Gabe starts camp and then Tuesday Kaleb starts camp. Exciting....(time to myself)

Boys out playing with sticks in the yard.

View from the front of the house all the way to the ocean.

Sunset, I just loved the colors and the back that the moon was out also.

Okay, my kids love corn on the cob. Today was the first time Kaleb had ever had corn on the cob. He at first wasn't really sure what to do with it, but once he watched Gabe and Daddy he didn't have any issues except when it fell into the ketchup.

Hope you enjoy these. We went to Tilden Park with friends and this was the first time Kaleb got to see an actual train. "choo-choo" and as you can see from the picture he was really excited.
